All foreign nationals and stateless persons need a visa to enter to Russia, except the citizens of the states with which the Russian Federation has visa-free agreements.

 

! It is mandatory to visit the Consulate in person and to have an appointment date on line to apply for Russian Visa.

! We recommend you do not book or purchase tickets which cannot be cancelled without cost prior to the issuance a visa.

 

To apply for a Visa the following documents should be submitted to the Consulate:

Kindly assure that the dates of entry and exit in your application form correspond to the dates specified in your supporting documents. Sign the application form.

  • One recent passport-size photo (3,5 x 4,5 cm) with a light background glued to the application form.
  • Proof of residence in Jordan for those who are not Jordanians (except for the citizens of the sates with which the Russian Federation has a relative agreement).
  • Insurance policy for the whole period of stay in Russia (obligatory for Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland).
  • Supporting documents depending on the purpose of the visit and the visa type.
  • For Tourist Visas (a single or double entry for up to 30 days):

- a “tourist voucher” and a “tourist confirmation” which are documents issued by an approved travel operator/agent.

- Insurance policy for the whole period of stay in Russia.

 

     You can buy your tour and obtain these documents through your hotel in Russia or a certified travel operator/agent who has the right to deal with trips to Russia.

! A hotel booking conformation cannot be the ground for issuing a visa.

! A Tourist Visa is issued according to the dates in your supporting documents, tourist voucher and confirmation, and cannot exceed 30 days.

       

     Tourists on cruise ships have the right to enter the Russian Federation without a visa for  up to 72 hours provided the following:

- They leave the ship as a part of organized tourist group and visit only territories, defined by the group tourist program,

- They come back on board after the excursion and stay on board at nights,

- They are included in the list of passengers, allowed to do so. Such a list is provided by the captain of the cruise ship 72 hours in advance of the entry to the Russian port. The passenger must also have his identity papers (travel passport).

     Tourists who wish to leave the ship on their own should have a tourist visa. Please be advised, that you should settle this issue with your cruise company prior to departure.

 

     During entry to Russia as a tourist, you could be also asked to present your tourist confirmation, voucher and a return ticket with a fixed date of departure from Russia at the border checkpoint. You must also prove that you have sufficient funds for your trip.

  • For Private Visas (a single or double entry up to 90 days):

- Original Letter of Invitation of Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or

- Printed photocopy of the Telex of Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia sent to the applicants' e-mail

or

- a Visa Request Form from a Russian citizen and birth/marriage certificates for a Private Family Visa. Please note that you should present the originals and copies of the documents. Only legal and civil marriage or birth certificates, issued by the governmental authorities, are accepted. If mentioned documents were issued by the country different from the Russian Federation, they should be legalized by Jordanian authorities or legalized by the Russian Embassy or consulate in a country which issued the document. For spouses you should present a marriage certificate, for minor children (under the age of 18) – a birth certificate, for incapacitated children of any age – a birth/adoption certificate and a medical certificate confirming incapacity. Citizen of Russian Federation must be present with his family member (except minor or incapacitated children) in person, have a valid Russian Foreign Passport and sign the Visa Request for a family visa.

! A Private Family Visa is issued only for the following family members of a Russian citizen: spouses, children under the age of 18, incapacitated children of any age.

! A Private Family Visa is issued for foreign nationals to enable them to enter the Russian Federation accompanied by the citizen of the Russian Federation who signed the visa request form only. It is prohibited to enter the Russian Federation without you companion with this type of visa.

 

  • For Business and Humanitarian Visas (a single or double entry up to 90 days or a multiple entry for up to 1 year):

- Original invitation issued by Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

or

- Printed photocopy of the Telex of Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia sent to the applicants' e-mail.

 

  • For Student Visas (a single or double entry up to 90 days or multiple entry up to 1 year):

- original invitation issued by Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia printed copy of a telex sent to the applicants' e-mail by Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

- HIV Test (AIDS) Certificate taken within the last 3 months. HIV Test Certificate should still be valid at least 1 month on the day of your application.

! Your passport should be valid for at least one year and a half after the date of entry to Russia according to your student visa.

 

  • For Work Visas (a single or double entry up to 90 days or multiple entry up to  3 years):

- Original invitation issued by Directorate for Migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

- HIV Test (AIDS) Certificate taken within the last 3 months. HIV Test Certificate should still be valid at least 1 month on the day of your application.

! Your passport should be valid for at least one year and a half after the date of entry to Russia according to your work visa.

 

  • For Transit Visas (single an double entry for not more than 3 days if travelling by air and 10 days if travelling by train):

- Printed photocopy of your confirmed two way tickets;

- a valid visa to the country you want to enter after leaving the Russian Federation or a valid passport of that country.

         ! A Transit Visa is not required if you remain in the transit zone of the airport within 24 Hours of arrival.

        

Other Notes:

  • The Consulate reserves the right to request any further documents and information in support of the application. If you are requested further information then it is important to provide the documents in a timely manner and you are normally given not more than 10 days.
  • Visa processing starts only after the all needed documents are accepted by a Visa Officer. The processing time for urgent visas is not more than 3 days, for not-urgent it is not more than 20 days. The decision of granting urgent visas is made by a Visa Officer.
  • Consular fees for Jordanians are 50 JD for a single not-urgent visa, 100 JD for a single urgent visa, 80 JD for a double not-urgent visa, 160 JD for a double urgent visa, 149 JD for a multiple not-urgent visa, 297 JD for a multiple urgent visa. The payment is only in Jordanian Dinars.
  • Regardless of the numbers of entries the total period of stay in the Russian Federation cannot exceed 90 days per each period of 180 days (except work and study).
  • Type of visa or dates of entry/departure can not be changed or extended.
  • Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.

 

! The Consulate reserves the right to refuse to grant a visa without any comments. Should the visa be refused, the consular fee paid won't be refunded.
