Following the Directive of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 5, 2024, No. 3583-r, Barbados, Bhutan, Zimbabwe, Jordan, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, and Eswatini have been added to the list of foreign countries whose citizens can obtain a unified electronic visa (UEV).
Thus, the specified list now includes a total of 64 countries.
The procedure for issuing the UEV, established by the Regulation "On the Procedure for Issuing Unified Electronic Visas," approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated November 7, 2020, No. 1793, remains unchanged.
The unified electronic visa is a single-entry visa. It is issued for 60 days from the date of issuance, with a stay of no more than 16 days from the date of entry into the country's territory. The processing time for the unified electronic visa is no more than four calendar days from the date of application submission.
This visa category grants the right to enter and stay in the Russian Federation for guest or business visits, as a tourist, as well as for participation in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, and sports events, and for establishing relevant connections and contacts.
To obtain an electronic visa, the application must be filled out at least 4 calendar days before the intended entry date into Russia, either on a website or through a special mobile application available for download on the mentioned website. The application must be accompanied by a digital photograph, a passport page with the machine-readable zone data, and consent to the processing of personal data.
The application is registered with the assignment of an identification number. The date and time of submission are considered to be the date and time when the completed application is sent for processing.
The consular fee for the issuance of an electronic visa is paid on the specialized website. Notifications regarding the progress and results of the application processing are sent to the foreign citizen's email address provided during registration. A printed notification of the issuance of the electronic visa is required for travel to Russia.
The cost of the unified electronic visa is approximately 52 USD (subject to fluctuations in exchange rates). Payment is made via credit card on the website.
The cost of the unified electronic visa for children under 6 years old is approximately 2 USD (also subject to fluctuations in exchange rates).
The application is processed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an automated mode. If incorrect information is detected, the processing of the application is suspended, and it is returned to the applicant for correction. In this case, the date of submission will be considered the date the corrected application is sent. The responsibility for the process of obtaining this type of visa rests entirely with the applicant. We kindly ask you to take this information into account when planning your trip.
Entry into the Russian Federation for holders of unified electronic visas is permitted by air, road, rail, and water transport, as well as on foot, only through the checkpoints at the state border of the Russian Federation, the list of which is provided on the website.
Please note that the final decision on entry through the state border of the Russian Federation is made by the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia, which, like the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, can annul the issued electronic visa in cases established by Russian legislation. The reasons for visa annulment are not explained.

In this regard, and to prevent unpleasant situations at the border, foreign citizens must transfer their visa from the canceled passport to the new one in any diplomatic or consular institution of the Russian Federation well in advance of their trip to Russia.
In this case, the visa can be restored in the new passport upon a written request from the foreign citizen.

Service processing time: one working day.
If the visa was issued outside of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Jordan, the visa restoration procedure will require additional verification, which, in practice, means that the processing time may take several days.
The transfer of multiple-entry work and study visas, as well as temporary residence visas issued by regional offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, is possible. In this case, the foreign citizen will be issued a single-entry visa for up to one month for entry into the Russian Federation and for applying to the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the issuance of a new multiple-entry visa.
Upon receiving the visa, the applicant should verify the accuracy of the information in the visa: full name, travel dates, passport number, date of birth, etc., and, if necessary, return the visa for corrections.
